To start with, a big storm with a couple of inches of rain and 50-70mph winds started things off a couple of hours before midnight. The below video shows the early, easy part, but by the time I got to bed after midnight, it was <em>pouring<\/em> and the wind was so loud against my building, I wondered if I\u2019d be able to go to sleep (I did\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026and quite nicely, thank you, but it must have been a bitch for Santa to fly through).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Christmas Eve storm 2020\" width=\"904\" height=\"509\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/cCG0LVwjjnw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 24px;\">I woke up somewhere between 6:30 and 7am and could tell right away that we had lost power. I saw on the news that the state had prepared for this by importing electrical company crews from as far away as Texas, so outages were expected to be widespread and lengthy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 24px;\">Oh God\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026..no desktop and my iPad\u2019s wi-fi comes from that computer when it\u2019s on. Plus, it\u2019s still rainy and windy and fairly dark\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026what will I do all day? I wouldn\u2019t even be able to read anything unless I put a flashlight in my mouth (not with MY gag reflex!).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 24px;\">Whenever we have outages, it takes forever for PSE&amp;G to show up\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026.Merry Christmas to me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 24px;\">I looked out my LR window just before 7am and could see that another building and the parking lot\u2019s light fixture were dark, but everywhere else was well-lit:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 24px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/iaintjustmusic.bobleafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/IMG_5457-12-25-20-min.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12079\" src=\"https:\/\/iaintjustmusic.bobleafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/IMG_5457-12-25-20-min.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"456\" srcset=\"https:\/\/iaintjustmusic.bobleafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/IMG_5457-12-25-20-min.jpg 900w, https:\/\/iaintjustmusic.bobleafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/IMG_5457-12-25-20-min-768x389.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 24px;\">That\u2019s not good &#8211; it means it\u2019s a tiny outage and not a priority, given all the much-larger outages that must have occurred.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 24px;\">I need a Christmas miracle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 24px;\">At around 7:30 am, I heard a truck outside and some guy yelling. I looked out the window and it was a PSE&amp;G truck! I\u2019m saved from the worst Christmas ever! 2020 is losing it!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 24px;\">It was still a miserable day outside, but it could have been a hell of a lot worse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 24px;\">I made believe I got a Christmas present when I opened up a package that arrived a couple of days ago. I had ordered a timer\/clock for the kitchen &#8211; nothing exciting &#8211; and then I read the instructions. So I did.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 24px;\">I had noticed more than the usual few holiday decorations on tenants\u2019 front doors and took a fast cruise through the building before anyone saw me (\u201cHey &#8211;
