I see the strangest things from my apartment. You\u2019d think it would be a yawn after 35 years of this, but it never stops (and I hope it never does). A \u201ccriminal\u201d practicing shooting a cop in his police car? Ho-hum!<\/span><\/p>\n

As usual, this all began when I happened to notice some odd activity in the next-door parking lot of the Second Reformed Church of Hackensack last month. I park my car in that lot, so I\u2019m often looking in that direction from my living room picture window.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what I initially saw:<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

An unfamiliar-looking police car with some sort of tent or covering behind it near my car (red) and my downstairs neighbor\u2019s car (green)\u2026\u2026\u2026..what the heck was this?<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I zoomed in closer. Two cops, a police car with no town name or police organization on the car – just \u201cPolice\u201d, some sort of screen and a small stepladder\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026..that tells me nothing.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Then someone walks the \u201cscreen\u201d and some other stuff by the car\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026..more nothing.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Now some woman appears to be stealing the cartop police lights\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026.WHAT IS GOING ON?<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The car moves, so I zoom in on the license plate. If I wind up calling the real police about this, I have to have something useful to give them because they\u2019d think I was crazy if I told them what I had seen so far:<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

GEORGIA PLATES? This is getting more bizarre by the moment!<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Then the car exits the lot onto Ward St:<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A film crew starts setting up on the Ward St sidewalk:<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

Is this a movie?<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It must be because there\u2019s a guy with a clapperboard:<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I zoomed in on the clapperboard:<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

So his name is \u201cJohn Doe\u201d? That\u2019s a bit suspicious-sounding\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026and the date\u2019s WAY off, not to mention the overly-generic production name.<\/span><\/p>\n

This must Jane Doe, the cameraperson (John\u2019s wife? Sister?):<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

So now we have an overview of the scene: the film crew, who appear to have forgotten to replace the rooftop cop lights (and the word \u201cPOLICE\u201d on the driver side of the car) AND a suspicious guy in a black muscle shirt in the church lot exit:<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The next few minutes are taken up by Mr. Muscle Shirt practicing his scene: running from the lot up the sidewalk and around the back of the cop car and then stopping by the driver\u2019s side window to shoot the cop with TWO fingers! (all my finger hand guns have only one finger because the middle finger makes a better trigger finger than the ring finger\u2026\u2026\u2026.got that?).<\/span><\/p>\n
