I know\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026..I already posted about this year\u2019s fireworks, but that was only from 3 of the 7 locations I shot\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026all from home and all on July 4.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some other nearby towns had their pyrotechnic displays on July 1, 3 and 7. To be complete, I\u2019ll mix in 4 shots from the earlier post, but none of the videos.<\/span><\/p>\n

On July 1, I just happened to see something in the distance and way to my left from my living room that I thought were coming from Bergenfield, but online research tells me that they didn\u2019t shoot off fireworks that evening\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026but Englewood did, so that\u2019s who I\u2019ll credit.<\/span><\/p>\n

Not great, but passable, considering the angle and distance (two to three towns away):<\/span><\/p>\n

Next up was Saddle Brook on July 3rd. Their displays are always interesting and here are the first four:<\/span><\/p>\n

But this next one was the winner this evening\u2026\u2026\u2026..can you guess why without looking at what follows it?<\/span><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a large hint:<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

Yes, it\u2019s the triple cross on the steeple of the Methodist Church at the corner of Summit and Passaic in Hackensack. I never saw it when I took the picture, but I was fortunate to capture it being backlit by fireworks from two towns away.<\/span><\/p>\n

Would you believe that I took a picture that included that triple cross just 74 minutes earlier that evening?<\/span><\/p>\n

And if anyone\u2019s interested in the cross\u2019s story\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

The next 4 are the repeats, starting with oddball fireworks from Bergen County\u2019s initial display in Leonia, which – like everything else so far – is two towns away (click to enlarge):<\/span><\/p>\n

This shows the finales of the Bergen County and the nearby Hackensack displays:<\/span><\/p>\n

Here are two Hackensack shots that look like they\u2019re coming out of the residential building that\u2019s right across the parking lot from me (and next to part of the still-visible YMCA building that won\u2019t be there much longer, unfortunately):<\/span><\/p>\n

Because of all the new construction in Hackensack, I didn\u2019t think I\u2019d be able to photograph the 10-miles-away Macy\u2019s fireworks displays on barges in the Hudson River like I was able to years ago, but some of the 5-barge shots towered over the buildings AND the cloud cover for a nice surprise:<\/span><\/p>\n

Both of these fireworks displays in Maywood and Paramus were scheduled for June 30, but the weather changed that to July 7, so what was first is now last.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026..but at one point, they were both going off:<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

I can\u2019t be sure which one-town-away location these 3 beauties belonged to, but I suggest that all the other towns find out who Maywood\u2019s and Paramus\u2019 fireworks suppliers are and make the switch before our big 250th birthday in 2026:<\/span><\/p>\n
