2024 – The Demolition of the Federal Credit Union Bank – Part 2 of 3
……………………………………………….(ignore April 30, 2017 publish date – this was published on June 18, 2024)
As promised, we’re starting this one off on the road – all the way over to the Main St side of the site (a whole two blocks away!) – because that’s where the action was on April 1.
I’m standing right across Main St – mostly just north of the YMCA………….on April Fool’s Day.
This image shows the last remaining front windows of the bank, the dust hoser (there’s gotta be a better name for him), and a menacingly-large bite about to be taken:
A yummy window is the first victim and is immediately spit out:
Some palate-cleansing cellulose:
For this shot, I’ve moved 90º to Passaic St by Main – from west-facing to north-facing:
Same angle….I think I shot this through one of the wind flaps on the green fence-covering:
Back on Main St, another piece of the building bites the dust:
All of a sudden, the great pop artist of the 1980s – the late Keith Haring – jumps in front of me and pedals away!
Don’t believe it? He’s got his signature all over the jacket’s sleeves!
OK……….enough with the distractions…….time to go home and shoot long distance.
April 2:
These two look like they’re fighting over some metal:
It appears that there’s plenty of metal to go around:
April 10 – Some interior work:
April 12 – Fancy lunch wagon:
April 14 (a Sunday morning) – Look what I found!
Somebody’s here on a Sunday? I’ve asked (and gotten) permission before when few workers were around, so let’s go see who’s here (and where – I don’t see anyone).
While I’m looking, I might as well take a few shots as I’m walking around, in case I DO get thrown out. Click once or twice to fully enlarge almost everything from this day.
TONS of stuff still to get tossed:
With one exception, I could not see basement rooms from my living room window (which – BTW – happens to be right under the second “b” in my watermark on the far left of this picture):
Of course, all these rooms also had to be demolished and carted away.
The basement room that I could see is on the right side of this picture:
Other rooms/views:
On the far western perimeter of the property sits what’s left of the bank’s drive-thru:
Walking back along the grass divider (see previous pic), I found these dandelions and their nutrient – Gulf Synthetic Blend:
So THAT’S how you grow fake dandelions!
A couple of equipment shots:
Nice brown door in that last one……..
Wide mess:
Tight mess:
Final conclusion: Nope – nobody around.
Hey – I tried…………….time to leave.
April 15:
Back on the job……………
April 16:
I will be skipping April 16 in this post because what occurred that day has too many pictures to be included here, so it will be the main component of Part 3 of this demolition series. April 16 will basically be the other side of what you saw in April 14th’s final image (back on the road again). The topic will conclude in Part 3 with the site cleanup – a rather obvious ending.
April 17:
Dumping metal
April 19:
Dunno what this guy’s about, but ain’t his hat cute?
April 22:
More dumpster-dumping………….
April 29:
I’d love to know what this was about………….
Great shots as always. Pictures are very clear and the explanation of each picture is described very well.
